Davyd and I are here in Madrid, lounging off travels and the ceiling of the lovely place we’re staying just fell in. It must be part of the super-continental shift. Let your friends in Europe know we’re coming because this is only the beginning.

In 2 days Moomaw and That Blasted Hound will be traveling European roads together for a month. Until then, sometime we need to catch up on what has happened.
Thanks to everyone who came out to the lovely album release at SMiLE on Friday! Here is a bit of chaos, what you may have seen or missed:
In the dust of the last tour with Os Beaches I found the following relics:
And another lovely tour journal filled with ridiculous artwork from Os Beaches, Moomaw and people we encountered at the shows:
Today we commence a sorted and sly musical journey for your mind. Given a minute to think one might laugh with lunacy. But listen, my friends, for we start in San Francisco: Hemlock Tavern @ 9pm (not a band to miss, so show up on time!) ~ Wed Feb 17 w/ Mark Matos & Os Beaches, Little Wings, Moomaw, Apache Thunderbolt. This swirl of a poster has been updated and there are new shows added, so gaze:

If you find yourself in California within the next 2 weeks, beware a band of misfits, possibly wandering roadside or speaking with the trees. Moomaw (including tabla player, Dale Means) will be traveling around playing music, causing havoc, with Mark Matos & Os Beaches. If you see a far out transvan, flag it down and hop in for some Beautifulled Illusions!

The kickoff show is with Little Wings and Apache Thunderbolt @ Hemlock Tavern on Wed Feb 17, 9:00pm. A proper ceremony will take place, a summoning of songs of the shaman.
Otherwise, the new Moomaw record is finished and ready to release on March 9. Check out the Moomaw myspace to listen to a few songs off this wild album.
Otherly otherwise, shortly after return from the Beautifulled Illusions Tour, Moomaw will be heading out of the country once again, this time with That Blasted Hound (Davyd Nereo of Beatbeat Whisper and Winnie Byrd). We will be trouncing through Spain, France, Holland, Germany and Italy. Pangealogical, you say? PANGEALOGICAL!
During my last tour across the US I carried a blank journal made from a recycled Kilmeny of the Orchard book. During shows I passed it around the crowd and asked for people to fill it with whatever they wanted. By the end of my tour nearly every page had something on it - artwork, notes, poetry, inside jokes, and of course the occasional phallic humor - in no chronological order as people scrawled it front-middle-back, upside-or-downside. Nearly equal parts creative genius and paper equivalent of a urinal wall, it’s an encapsulation of the folks that I encountered on the trip and it’s now published below, unedited, blank pages included:
